Dear Rare Pair Pal
Jun. 25th, 2016 07:53 pmThank you so much for offering one of my rare pairs! I am going to flip out with joy over anything you make.
General likes: Gratuitous references to history/continuity, tag team romance/loyalty/betrayal/anything, banter, hurt/comfort, filthy smut.
Kayfabe compliant is my favorite but, if inspiration strikes you as hard as an Owen Hart enzuigiri, *cue dramatic music* ~I realize, you have to go that way,~~no more kayfabe todaaaaay.~
DNWs: Nothing. Party on!
American Wrestling Association
Curt Hennig/Scott Hall - I really dig big, green Scott Hall with Curt as his smaller, savvier mentor.
Marty Jannetty/Shawn Michaels (AWA) - These two were so cute together for so long, and spent a lot of their AWA time getting the hell beaten out of them in most appealing fashion.
Pat Tanaka/Paul Diamond (AWA) - These two are another forever tag team and they were delightful heels in AWA, being absolute sleazeballs and loving every minute of it.
Extreme Championship Wrestling
Stevie Richards / Blue Meanie - I'd be down for anything from cute bWo goofiness to their harrowing times in Raven's flock to Stevie succumbing to the seductive charms of Bluedust.
Cactus Jack / Mikey Whipwreck - I love how earnest and devoted Cactus is to taking this kid under his wing, and how poor Mikey always pulls through and does his best for Cactus no matter how terrified he is.
Joey Styles/Jason - Joey Styles complains so much about Jason's Sexiest Man Alive schtick, it starts to get a little suspicious after a while. ;p
Raven/Stevie Richards (ECW) - The intense, fucked up, cult leader / loyal henchtwink thing these two have going on is fantastic.
Woman/Cactus Jack - I just love the chemistry between these two. Woman seems fascinated by Cactus's lack of fear.
Terry Funk/Cactus Jack - These two got so brutal with each other, and had some great, obsessive feuds. Cactus to Funk in one promo: "When you kiss your wife, you'll see me!"
(I'm not opposed to that Christopher Daniels/A.J. Styles ECW AU the tag set apparently wants someone to write, either. ;p)
Mid-South Wrestling
Bobby Eaton/Dennis Condrey - The Midnight Express were always so good at being bad, and these two (along with Cornette) were very bad indeed in Mid South.
Butch Reed/Buddy Landel - I would love to see these two being gleefully awful together. Anything from in ring dastardly deeds to going out for a romantic dinner and not leaving a tip. They're just the worst. <3
Junkyard Dog/Ted DiBiase - I love a good mentor-student betrayal, the more heartbreaking the better. JYD was just so GOOD,
Koko B Ware/Bobby Eaton - Ex-tag team partners, now feuding is one is my favorite dynamics. And they were so cute together in Memphis, too.
Koko B Ware/Norvell Austin - These two were always cute together, but Norvell standing by his man when the Midnight Express got Koko fined made me melt.
Ricky Morton/Robert Gibson - I would adore some traditional Rock 'n' Roll Express hurt-comfort. It was their specialty, after all. ;p
World Championship Wrestling
Arn Anderson / Ric Flair - The long-term loyalty and devotion is what gets me with these two. Arn is so utterly devoted and Ric, who will betray anyone else as soon as look at them, sticks with Arn through the years.
Brian Pillman / Steve Austin - The Hollywood Blonds always came off like they were making so much trouble. <3
Kevin Nash / Scott Hall - These two in their us-against-the-world Outsiders days were just he best.
Woman / Miss Elizabeth - I would LOVE to know how Woman convinced Miss Elizabeth to turn on Randy and join her in managing the Horsemen.
Woman / Ric Flair - These two being cool and evil together is just irresistible to me, in 1990 or 1996.
Sting / Lex Luger - SO MUCH BETRAYAL. Lex Luger breaking Sting's heart a million times and not giving him the benefit of the doubt the one time he needed it (and, iirc, proceeding to follow Sting around like a lost puppy once Sting had finally decided he'd had enough and departed for a new life of cosplaying The Crow), I love it.
